Crafting Visual Narratives
Kyle Emmerson founded RavensTale Creative in 2023 to realize a long-standing dream of following his family's rich tradition of photography, storytelling, and visual art that traces back generations through Newfoundland's photographic heritage.
This legacy includes connections to the early days of photography in St. John's, Newfoundland, where his great-grandfather James Spurrell was a dedicated photographer. The family's photographic business evolved over the decades, eventually becoming the Spurrell Gallery before being sold in 2017, marking the end of a multi-generational commitment to visual storytelling.
At RavensTale Creative, every individual and brand carries a unique story waiting to be told through the lens of speculative storytelling. The approach combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of narrative photography, creating images that challenge perspectives and embrace the extraordinary in the everyday, while prioritizing a safe, inclusive space where creativity can flourish.
