Our Work

Photography is more than just a still image—it’s a story frozen in time. Each shoot is a carefully crafted narrative, a transformation of light, mood, and emotion. Whether you’re stepping into the shoes of a mythical warrior, embodying an enigmatic fashion muse, or creating dark and immersive visuals, this portfolio highlights the limitless possibilities of creative photography.

Fantasy & Narrative Photography

Step into another world. These cinematic, high-concept shoots bring fantasy, folklore, and storytelling to life through striking visuals.

Our Process

At RavensTale Creative Foundry, every shoot is more than just photography—it’s a carefully crafted visual experience. Whether working with models, brands, or creatives, I approach each project with a strong narrative vision, blending practical and digital elements to create something truly unique.

Below is a look at how a full-budget creative shoot comes together, from the first spark of an idea to the final image delivery. (For lower-budget shoots, some steps may be adjusted or handled collaboratively.)

Initial Contact & Collaboration

Every project begins with a conversation. Sometimes I’m contacted by a model, brand, or artist looking to create something extraordinary. Other times, I reach out to models whose aesthetic and energy align with an idea I want to bring to life.

Creative Ideation & Mood Boarding

Once we’ve established interest, we begin exploring the theme, emotion, and visual style of the shoot. We brainstorm using references, mood boards (often on Pinterest), and concept sketches to develop the narrative and aesthetic direction.

Wardrobe & Prop Planning

The right wardrobe and props elevate a shoot from simple photography to immersive storytelling. I work with the model and clients to determine the best looks—sometimes sourcing materials, helping create costumes, or customizing elements to fit the vision.

Digital Backdropping & Environment Design

For certain shoots, the set is not just physical—it’s digital. Using 3D modeling software, I design custom backdrops that transport the subject into another world. These environments range from simple themed interiors to ancient ruins or futuristic cityscapes, carefully crafted to enhance the overall aesthetic.

Bringing in Extra Talent

If the shoot requires specialized hair and makeup, I collaborate with skilled stylists to refine the look and ensure every detail is camera-ready.

Booking the Date & Locking in the Details

Once all elements are in place, we finalize the date and prepare for the shoot.

Gear Check & Pre-Shoot Prep

The night before, we ensure all the equipment is charged, packed, and organized—cameras, lenses, lighting, memory cards, and any additional gear needed for the shoot.

Arrival & Setup

I arrive early to set up lighting, test compositions, and prepare the space. This is where pre-production meets execution, ensuring everything runs smoothly when the model arrives.

On-Set Execution

With all elements in place, the shoot begins. Whether it’s a high-energy, movement-based session or a moody, intimate character study, I direct the model to bring the vision to life.

Wrap-Up & Tear-Down

Once we’ve captured the necessary shots, the gear is packed up and the session is complete—but the process is far from over.

Culling & Selection

After the shoot, I go through hundreds (sometimes thousands) of images, carefully selecting the strongest shots that best represent the vision.

Color Grading & Retouching

The selected images undergo an initial color grading pass, adjusting tones, contrast, and mood. Basic retouching (blemish removal, skin correction, and fine detail work) refines the subject while maintaining a natural, artistic finish.

Final Edits & Delivery

Once the images are polished, refined, and color-corrected, they undergo a final review before being sent to the client. Delivery includes high-resolution images, formatted for web and print, ensuring they’re ready for portfolios, branding, or publication.

Advanced Compositing

For concept-heavy shoots, I meticulously blend photographed elements into the 3D-modeled environments, ensuring lighting, perspective, and textures match seamlessly. This is where the image truly becomes a cinematic piece rather than just a photo.

Want to Create Something Unforgettable?

Creative photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about telling a story, crafting an experience, and pushing artistic boundaries. Whether you’re a model, artist, brand, or musician, let’s collaborate and bring your vision to life.

Collaborative Opportunities

As of March, 2025, RavensTale Creative is open to TFP requests for the purpose of promotion and portfolio building.

What this means

TFP (trade for print) is a term from before the digital era which describes an agreement between creatives to collaborate on a project together without any money exchanging hands. If you are a model, make-up artist, hairstylist, or clothing designer with a small or non-existent portfolio, RavensTale Creative is open to exchanging free photography services for shared portfolio rights. However, this arrangement comes with some caveats.

Commercial use policy

  • No party may receive any direct revenue for the finished photos unless it is shared equally between all parties involved on every level of the production.
  • Photos may be used without explicit consent for:
    • Promotional use
    • Social Media
    • Portfolio use
    • Non-commercial republishing
  • Explicit consent is required for:
    • Selling of photo or prints
    • Contests
    • Publishing in a commercial capacity

Collaborative rights & responsibilities

  • RavensTale Creative retains the following rights:
    • Ability to reschedule shoots as necessary up to 24 hours prior.
    • RavensTale Creative must be credited as the photographer in all cases.
      • When possible, a link to our social media or website is required. (In the captions of social media posts, or invited as a collaborator.)
      • If photo is posted on a platform without possibility to provide credit for photography, a RavensTale Creative watermark must be on the image.
    • RavensTale Creative will not provide raw or unedited photos.
  • Collaborative partners retain the following rights:
    • Ability to reschedule shoots as necessary up to 48 hours prior.
    • Collaborative partners will be credited in all cases by the following means:
      • Text-based acknowledgements and links to social media or websites where possible.
  • All parties are required to sign a photo release contract which clearly outlines mutual rights and responsibilities.
    • If the collaboration is mature or adult-themed, both RavensTale Creative and the collaborative partner may bring one trusted third party each of the gender of the collaborative partner’s choosing.

Creative considerations

  • RavensTale is open to all levels of creative collaboration, but reserves the right to turn down a creative idea if…
    • …the idea is perceived to be dangerous to either photographer or model.
    • …the idea promotes notions of hate, violence, discrimination, or prejudice against any demographic, class, or individual, including, but not limited to:
      • Sex
      • Gender identity
      • Sexual orientation
      • Lifestyle
      • Race or ethnicity
      • Religion
      • Cognitive or physical disability
      • Political ideology
    • (Exceptions for the above may be allowed if the intent of the production is to draw attention or awareness to the acts of hate, violence, discrimination or prejudice themselves.)
    • …it does not align with RavensTale Creative’s overall vision.
    • …it is perceived as too sexually explicit with no artistic merit.
    • …if the collaborative partner lies or misrepresents themselves.
  • A collaborative partner is more than welcome to provide ideas and work with RavensTale during any step of the creative process, or leave the creative project 100% to RavensTale Creative.
    • RavensTale will more often lean toward the collaborative partner’s vision when one is agreed upon.
    • RavensTale also has a comprehensive list of ideas for creative shoots available upon request to the collaborative partner.
  • Collaborative partners who are models must fill out our Model Vision and Boundaries questionnaire, then contact us with their proposal.
  • Collaborative partners who are make-up artists, hairstylists or clothing designers are encouraged to reach out and contact us in order to find if their creative project aligns with our TFP policy.

Interested in Collaboration?

Please feel free to reach out to us! We are excited to help others build and grow together. We are also interested in meeting with other photographers of any experience level. A rising tide lifts all ships, and the more people creating, the better the world we live in.
